More about Matt
Matt has been fishing Arkansas’ Tail waters since he was just an elementary age kid. Matt’s dad had a fly rod in his hand by the third grade. He’s been guiding full time since 2006. Matt got his start down on the Little Red River in Heber Springs, he spent several seasons guiding in Alaska, and was a part owner in a guide service in the Yampa Valley of northwest Colorado.
Matt currently lives in Cotter, Arkansas and primarily fishes the White and Norfork Tailwaters but can also be found sneaking around plenty of other blue lines. Matt has huge passion for drift boat fishing as he uses that as his primary vessel but also keeps a sweet sixteen foot jet boat in his fleet. Making sure you get the experience you are after is his primary goal.
Whether you’re a young kid, beginning angler or a seasoned veteran of the sport, Matt has tricks to teach you. The Ozarks is a special place to fly fish with a true year-round season and constant water temps. Matt has had the chance to guide and live in some amazing places, but the rivers of Arkansas keep pulling him back. They can offer great nymphing, incredible hatches and insane streamer fishing.

More about Greg
I was fortunate to grow up fly fishing in Northwest Arkansas on the numerous creeks and streams, as well as the White River system. The outdoors was always an important part of our life. My earliest memories are of camping and fishing. I learned to fly fish at a very early age and it has always been a passion of mine. I take credit for my kids enjoying and learning the outdoors at a young age and then passing that pleasure down to my grandchildren. Makes me proud when they inform me that it is time to go to the river!!
Fly fishing has been an avenue for a great deal of adventure and passion in my life. One of these passions is the time I volunteer twice a year to an organization called Reel Recovery. It is essentially a retreat for men who have had, or do have, cancer. I have been volunteering as a River Buddy since 2009 at retreats in both Arkansas and Missouri. I first became a River Buddy believing I was going to make a difference in these men’s lives. In reality I was the one that came away with the most impact on my life. It is truly a life-changing occasion to share my love of fly fishing with these men. Some of them attend the retreat knowing they have months, weeks or maybe only days remaining to enjoy their lives. In some cases, I believe I helped provide their best day – ever – on the water. That, my friend, was checked off their bucket list.
I do wade trips for trout on the Lower Illinois river in Gore, Oklahoma. My float trips will be on the Upper Illinois above Lake Tenkiller. Depending on water level we could be in a ClackaCraft driftboat or a Supreme 207XP Jetboat. Either way you will learn a little and have a great day on the water. We use quality equipment such as Orvis and Sage rods, Orvis and Ross reels, and waders from Simms and Redington. I look forward to spending a day on the river with you!
